Repeating what others have said; Chris, the landlord, doesn't do his job. He consistently ignores your emails, phone calls, and texts about repairs and other issues. For example, he was supposed to clean the air vents and put in a new air filter before we moved in; it took him 6 months after we moved in (because we continuously complained about the smell and the health concern) to provide us with an air filter, and it wasn't even the right size - nor was it clean (new). We eventually had to buy our own. Chris pleaded with us not to file a health report... we didn't... thinking he would actually start to communicate with us. Nothing changed. The building is well-maintained and the neighbors are nice and have cute pets. But the management company is an absolute nightmare to deal with. We lived in the apartment next to the manager’s and lost count of the times we heard tenants knocking because he wouldn’t respond to emails or texts. One poor woman had to live through an entire summer without air conditioning. Repair requests would frequently be ignored, they were misleading about the seismic retrofit (we didn’t have full use of our parking spot for several months as opposed to the promised “a couple of weeks”). Poor maintenance practices. 6 weeks without a/c. Documented our communications over those weeks via email, voice, text and even knocking on supers door. Often no response for days! Poor communication. Otherwise we really like the apt and our neighbors. Total frustration!
