Worst experience of my life place was run down not up to code what so ever. Had to give an $1800 security deposit to which I got nothing back from it. Never received a letter from them telling why they took it all. Highly recommend not doing business with them. Ill never do business with them ever again. Talked with them said they sent a letter which I never received and then told me they would email it to me still haven't received anything. Very unprofessional never again.

Do NOT rent from them!!!!!!!!!!! They are the absolute WORSE when it comes to moving out! They praised us for being good tenants and then lied about problems with the move out inspection. Karen doesn’t return calls and she doesn’t give updates. When I specifically asked her to please call with updates about the move out, she said she would, but never did and the only other call I got was from Jamie to tell me they basically robbed me of half of my security deposit. Both have an attitude problem and insist that you’re arguing with them when trying to get updates. When I politely asked about charges, Karen says, “look I’m not going to argue with you, I have 45 days from the time of move out to give you back your security deposit and I had a lot of people move out at the same time”. When my husband died a year and a half ago me and my daughter needed to get another place quick. I called forest river realty about a apartment I saw on their website that was in my price range. Me and my daughter went to look at it and we wanted the apartment. It was a quick and easy process for us to get the apartment. Even my friends and family was impressed how quick we was able to get into the apartment. Forest river realty is by far the best company I ever rented from. All of their units/ houses is clean and well taken care of. If there is a problem with the apartment they have someone over within a day, not days or weeks like other companies i rented from in the past. Karen Tomlin has the best run real estate company in town. She has managed my properties for years. I would not think of going anywhere else. They really have a tough job but do it professionally and treat people fairly. Karen and her staff really care for and about the properties they manage. They really do the credit checks and work verifications and try to find good quality renters. I have not had one of my properties destroyed by a renter under their watch. On top of that, they resolve issues quickly and are extremely organized. Just stop by their office and you can feel the difference from the others in town. I moved to Virginia from Ohio, and had a very hard time finding a place to live in my price range, and trying to find someone who would give me a home on good faith I would find a job when I got here and continue my rent. I ended up renting a lovely 3 bedroom apartment. It is in a nice area with friendly neighbors. The first weekend I stayed in my new apartment was new years weekend. The furnace stopped working that weekend. When I reported it they were courteous on the phone and the repairs were made quickly. They have been very helpful in many other ways since being here also. I am thankful for our home and look forward to a long relationship with this agency.
