We work with many title companies and this was far from a seamless and smooth process. Not only did they forget about docs that were sent from the buyers lender, our buyer frequently had to request updates since they rarely heard from the title officer or team. Then near the end they were given poor instructions on how to deliver down payment funds and after hearing the buyers weren’t comfortable mailing a cashiers check overnight, they blamed the buyers for the “mistake”, when they had only been following poor instructions from staff. Our buyers had to drive 4 hours, taking a day off of work and without any thank you or apologies for the title team’s lack of clear communication, direction or professionalism. We had two transactions with American Title over the past three months. Several complications arose - an error in existence of an association, a lien on our property in another person's name, title held in trust etc. All were handled quickly and efficiently by the American Title staff members.
