The escrow officer, Leticia Galindo-Glueck, did not read the contract, a signed agreement based on a standard Colorado contract. She made mistakes in the closing figures and then, when we brought this to her attention, she first blamed one party and then gave unsolicited and unwarranted (unlicensed) legal advice, saying that we would need to clarify the contract with another contract at closing. This was absolutely not true and we all refused to do that. The contract as it was provided was absolutely clear. She just didn't read it. She eventually corrected the mistake but in the process sent up red flags to both parties that wouldn't have otherwise happened. Information was easy to access online, and documents were easy to sign and process.
