I've been renting in a building managed by Essex for 15 years. They decide to put a dance studio behind us so we get thumping sounds after 2 pm each day. The dance studio moved in because they had to leave their previous location do to...drumroll...it being too loud. Essex says the property owner approved the dance studio- false, as anybody renting in the building goes through Essex first. We are in month four of trying to get a solution. I was emailed a few times by an email address I've never seen. I ignored as there are many scams. The name on the email was Essex. I then received an email in which they threatened to stop receiving my mail. This sparked my curiosity so I decided to respond and say I don't know who they are, and I would check with the other tenants of the business complex. Essex then replied to me saying I should read their email footer that contains the address of our complex. As if this is a proper and legal way to be identified. While talking with other tenants at the complex to confirm, they mentioned Essex had taken over for the original owner and managers of the complex.
