horrendous company. these people are absolute slumlords and will make sure your living quality is abysmal. they hire handymen to do big jobs that fall apart in their a month or less. they use fear and intimidation to make you back down from requests. they are notoriously cheap. they will lie to you about the unit only to discover a multitude of problems. from infestations, to shoddy plumbing, leaking roofs, and their on-site managers are probably family members that do next to nothing to help you when something is wrong. look them up on bbb for more bad reviews. a class action lawsuit needs to happen against this corrupt company. mark your calendars essential management.

As one of many people who has lived at 100 N Sycamore and still has friends in the building, I can tell you it hasn't improved in years. Sylvia works in the Essential Management office and while she's nice at first to get you in the building, you will never deal with her again until you move out. Nidia is the building manager for 100 N Sycamore, you will also never see her and you will rarely here from her, even if you politely request help with the bevy of issues that arise from living in an old building in the heart of the city. In the event she does communicate with you, it will likely be nonsensical and ineffective. For maintenance and fixes of any kind they mostly just pour paint over everything as a solve to any issue. To date, Essential Management has not returned my tenant’s security deposit (past California’s 21-day limit), dismissed documented safety issues and code violations (break-in attempt, frequent police calls, no working heater), and cut off phone conversations instead of resolving problems. Their staff will insult you, and then cease all communications. If timely refunds, professional communication, and basic habitability matter to you, DO NOT SIGN WITH THIS COMPANY.

Don’t rent from them. They don’t care about serious health issues like termites and mold. Unresponsive and untruthful. Make the renter feel like nobody. Disrespectful comments by Nidia Lobos. They should be placed out of business. Bad management. They don’t care. They take one week to “fix” a window when the glass was blown out due to windy conditions. That was during winter and I had to cover the missing glass with foil. The glass fell on the grass and it gets put back, glued with silicone. All window frames are moldy and rotten. Water is behind a wall under the window frame and moisture is lifting the paint on the ceiling. It has been reported several times but nothing is being done about it, except a coat of paint which lasts for a month until the water damage is back again. The surrou

The management company is absolutely atrocious. It is nearly impossible to get a response from people. Our building was left without hot water and *I* spent MY weekend getting it fixed for our building, they left zero emergency contact information and left the residents high and dry. I went into their office to inform them, and Manuel, Gaby and Silvia ganged up on me and told me that they didn’t leave our building without hot water. They repeatedly yelled at me, telling me that I was wrong. I eventually gave them a request for maintenance from the city of West Hollywood, and four months later, there’s still no emergency contact info posted. I have also spent time with Nidia on the phone who expects a medal because she answers your phone call when their system improperly charges you late fe
