DSA Management

DSA Management are slumlords. During my daughter's rental at 700 East 9th street they neglected to pay Con Ed and lost their gas leaving my daughter and her roommate with a hotplate instead of an oven for 3 moths whilst then doing construction to convert to electric. The apt was vastly overheated, common areas not kept up, faulty appliances took forever to replaced. However, the kicker was that at the end of the first year we switched out one of the roomamates and took the rent increase. When we tried to do this for the third year they wouldn't let us renew and my daughter had to move because her roommate was leaving. Why? Because they wanted to collect the fee on a new rental. They told her she had to move out on the 31st of July and they got someone else in there on the 1st. No ability

Horrible customer service. I am an RN and a patient advocate who was trying to help a patient that lives in one of their apartment buildings in NY. Spoke to Arik about concerns that patient lives on the 6th floor and reports the elevator is constantly broken and he is unable to do stairs due to his health conditions and walking with a rollator. He is unable get out of the building and worried about medical appointments and feels isolated from the outside world. Arik was one of the rudest, most unprofessional personnel I have ever spoke to in my entire life. Told me he did not appreciate the phone call of me trying to help someone and that I am "not going to accomplish anything here." His words were, "I know you are trying to help someone, good for you, cool." Told me he "lost his temper" o

My experience with DSA was mostly negative, and I leave this review as a cautionary tale for those who are considering renting with them. The process of getting into the apartment was smooth, though a lot of their systems are still relatively archaic. You have to pay for everything with checks/cashier’s checks initially, and do a lease signing in-person. Once you’re set up, they do have an online payment system for rent. Now into the bad part. I was unfortunately laid off from my job in late September of 2023. I continued to pay my rent while I searched for a job. Eventually I was given an offer, but that job required me to relocate to California. As soon as I knew I needed to relocate, I reached out to DSA management in order to try and find an amicable solution that would work for both

I’ve never worked with such a disrespectful and unresponsive property manager. Absolutely no care for the tenants, takes over a week to have someone in to address mice/dishwasher/electric issues throughout the year. Spoke to them on the phone to express my concerns and challenges with our unit only to be blamed for my lack of a solution (which involved contacting the super, the guy in charge of fixing items on site). These guys have no intention of owning their own faults and fail time and time again to deliver sound solutions to issues with our unit. Love to see it.

Easily the best landlord I've had in NY. Our building in the east village is well maintained and has no pest problems. Being an old building, sometimes there are issues, but the super always makes a good effort to fix things quickly. Sometimes you need to wait for parts or a special technician, but it will always get dealt with. I like that they work with an in house broker so you can avoid paying broker fees and their new online payment system is easy to use. It's always possible to get in touch with someone at the main office if you have questions. I'd happily continue to rent from DSA!
