D.R. Horton Spokane Division Office

We moved into a home in the Windhaven subdivision last fall. While we love our home, small issues have arisen that resulted in our submission of several warranty tickets. Sometimes it was a question (“I have never had a heat pump before: is ice underneath the unit normal or a problem?”)…several were small fixes (a defective light switch…a clogged dryer vent)…one was a real mystery involving smoke alarms going off randomly that it took three visits to resolve. Never having had a “warranty” before, I always felt a little uncomfortable submitting a ticket, but our representative, Robin Anderson, has been consistently pleasant, responsive, and able to efficiently connect us with the services needed to resolve the problem. My wife ran over construction staples in DR Horton's neighborhood while under construction, and had to get the tires replaced as they were not repairable, to a cost of $300. DR Horton's Spokane Division Office confirms *in writing* the staples were found and cleaned up same-day as our car (and a neighbors car) ran over them. My neighbor and I both contacted the DR Horton office. My neighbor got reimbursed. I got the run-around for 3 months. Still waiting for them to get back to me. This is after so many other things we've been patient and forgiving on. Poorest constructed built homes! They throw them up in a couple of months and hire contractors that have zero experience in their trade, and they learn on the job (your house!). Then you spend all of your time listing the warrantable issues and scheduling for the subs to come back and fix the issues. I am 1.5 years into my “new home” and had my garage door panels replace last summer due to some denting, they JUST got painted, for example. Poor finish work, not enough insulation, I submitted a warranty per the warranty admin in the field two days ago to add a missing siding strip under a window and then they denied it even though it clearly was missed during the build but bc I didn’t see it at my walk through, now they won’t make it right (even though they are late completing everything els

We hired Dave and Lexington Homes to build our house in 2016. Dave and the rest of them were plenty nice, but they just don’t do a good job. Bad subs with no oversight. We were lied to on many occasions. Not a good builder.

We chose Lexington to build our new home, and we are loving our house! Dave, Brian, and Joseph are awesome! Very responsive and professional, they were patient with our changes. The whole team did a great job and our house looks amazing.
