I appreciated the prompt response and the quick transfer to the billing department. However, what began as a simple credit card billing date error resulted not only in a late fee (which I understand), but also an additional “administrative fee” that was explained to me only as a “hard cost to the association,” followed by a separate processing fee. While I understand that businesses incur costs, the layering of multiple fees for a minor billing issue felt excessive and disproportionate. I value transparency and fairness, and in this situation, the charges felt more punitive than reasonable.

I never shared my experience but now that’s it’s also happened to one of my good friends, I will. I rented an apartment for 2 years from this company, never was late on a payment, lived alone, no animals, only had a couple maintenance issues which had nothing to do with me. What I would imagine is a very unproblematic, easy going tenant. Once I moved out, I was advised to hire someone to clean the carpet professionally which was unusual because like I said, no animals and the carpet was brand new when I moved in, but whatever I did it anyways. Mind you I lived in a small one bedroom apartment and it cost me about $150 for the carpet cleaning. I spent two days deep cleaning this apartment and they charged me a cleaning fee, which was a few HUNDRED DOLLARS out of my deposit, for BS like wate
