District West at The Packing District

We called District West to get some more information, and it was the easiest call I had with an apartment complex. Raquel was extremely helpful and answered every single one of our questions. If most complexes had someone like her working, they would have 5 starts all day long. Update: Doesn’t let me leave a 2nd review. We moved in a month and a half after talking to Raquel over the phone, and the moving was smooth and easy. She made it possible by waiting for us on a Saturday at 3 PM. The apartment is as good as the pictures and we are very happy. Thanks Raquel!

The "Strict West": A Five-Star Prison (With Valet Trash) This complex is a lovely place to live—provided you never, ever plan on leaving. I’ve started calling this neighborhood the "Strict West" because the management operates with the kind of rigid discipline that would make a drill sergeant blush. The 52-Page Trap I must have blinked and missed the move-out clause somewhere between page 42 and 47 of the 52-page manifesto they call a lease. I foolishly thought 45 days’ notice was reasonable. Silly me. They require 60 days. Because I was 15 days "late" to announce my escape, they slapped me with a bill for over $1,000. The best part? They delivered the news with the kind of polished, corporate beaming smile that says, "We’re robbing you, but isn't the lobby decor nice?" ### The Amenities (
