I started renting in late November and signed my lease before looking at online reviews. When I did read reviews I thought, "Uh oh," because most of the rental companies in ABQ have gotten bad reviews online, including Deacon, but I want to share my experience with Deacon. I worked with Alyssa (rental agreement) and Lance (maintenance), as well as other staff for showings and in the office. I found them all to be professional, easy to work with and effective. So kudos to that team. When I moved in and did the rental check-in, I marked EVERYTHING down and photographed it all. The apartment looked like it had been recently painted, and that it had a new fridge, a spotless stove/oven, and had new blinds, so I could tell they were maintaining it. So let’s start at the beginning when I moved into my unit first and go from there. When I had moved into my unit, there was absolutely no cleaning nor maintenance done prior to move in. I was promised that the apartment was move in ready and had done the inspections and everything. Within the first week of moving in, I had the heater fall off of the wall on top of me while I was nine months pregnant. They had to completely replace the heater as it was deemed unsafe. Subsequently after that, they had to completely renovate my kitchen counter as they had found mold decay and just absolute disarray of my sink and counter area surrounding my sink. Not to mention, there was a horrific, black widow and spider infestation in my unit. When we moved in, it had been very clearly not cleaned at all.

I was a tenant and I had a great experience. All the staff were very helpful and my service request were often answered with in the same week I submitted them. Trevor a Stephanie were especially great to work with. Minus my neighbors being less than responsible with their property I was very happy with my experience with Decon.

I was in my apartment for 6 months and left it so nice and cleaned everything. Part of my security deposit was kept as a cleaning fee for things that would take 5-6 minutes to wipe. I actually left the place better than I got it. Also my neighbors were complete druggies and that’s ultimately why i moved out. But would never rent from deacon, their cleaning fees are completely made up for normal were and tear. STAY AWAY!

Why is Deacon properties just allowing anyone to move in? Moved into 900 griegos apartments a few years back and some of the newer residents look like drug addicts and neighbors on opposite side drive crazy almost hit my car before and their cars have expired registration and expired temp tag plates Is deacon even doing back ground checks on the residents anymore or are they allowing ppl breaking the law to move in? Apparently not Just look at the MANY bad reviews To the owner please do not let just anyone move in your companies name is going downhill To anyone else having problems there are resources to contact about
