Cortland on Cumberland

So glad I moved out. I only moved in because they had a really good special (bait and switch) They got mad at me because I wouldn’t resign my lease and tried to retaliate. This apartment complex is rebranding under CORTLAND and they are just as incompetent and deceitful even under new management. These are very dishonest people. They don’t respect their tenants. JANET is the new manager and she is unprofessional and rude. Live ANYWHERE ELSE. These people are TERRIBLE!

If I could do less than 1 star I would. Please notice how many honest bad reviews there are. I’ve lived here 2 years, and it’s been non stop bull shit the entire time. First you are overcharged almost monthly and have to get your account corrected. Paying for a “gated community” but the gate is always open. Then you have to pay for valet trash which gets picked up 50% of the time and your can will get taken by vendors over and over. The office staff has zero desire to help, or do anything, even answer the phone or email. The communication is terrible, you get a warning about something maybe an hour before it happens then they take days to respond to you. Do your self a favor and avoid this place for your own well being. Abysmal excuse for management and people. DO NOT LIVE HERE **UPDATE A

I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND RENTING ANYTHING HERE! Since the first month i moved in i had to go into the office to get my rent corrected as it is still never correct which is absolutely insane when you have a signed lease! They put all types of random fees which somehow always comes up to $200.The office stays sending emails out about random inspections which they come inside your apartment for no exact reason then leave the lights on, and your front door lock jammed, just to be nosy!! I have cameras and watched them do nothing! but when it’s come to them correcting your account it takes weeks even to the point they try to come and ask for late fees on top of the messed up rent account you have. I spoke with other residents and i am definitely not the only one waiting for my lease to be over. Th

Can't leave -100 stars? Cuz that's what this place deserves. They stole $400 from my friends by hiding hundreds (yes, hundreds!) of additional fees per month until AFTER they'd applied and paid the $400. They tricked them into paying the $400 knowing full well what their budget was, and that the final monthly was out of their budget. This place lied about "total monthly costs" until my friends had the actual contract. Please help us all by tanking this place's reviews.

Terrible complex to live in! The administration office never once answered their phone the entire 2 years I was there, and when you finally catch one of the employees in the office and you ask them about it, they make the excuse that their phones are down, which was their excuse for the entire time I was there. If you want to be at risk of trees falling, spontaneous fires, rude and lazy office staff then this is the place for you. Be very careful and do not get an overpriced lease with those crooks. I’ve included a photo and a video as proof of their negligence. BEWARE Edit: I also just remembered to tell you to be ready for water interruptions every week, had to take a shower at my gym one time cuz the water was off for a day and a half. It’s ridiculous.
