I rented from Continental for over 7 years and was dumbfounded when I received the Final Statement of Security Deposit. They deducted for cleaning by BC Homes. I left the duplex spotless and had been told by their lead inspector prior to move out that all I needed to do was dust. I cleaned everything further before vacating as seen in the attached photos. Other current tenants and prospective tenants need to know they will be charged for cleaning no matter if you leave the unit spotless.

I moved out from this place last month, and today I received my security deposit check. They charged me $521 for just carpet cleaning for one bed one bath apartment. I couldn't get carpet cleaning done as I moved out on Sunday and everything was closed. The maximum amount they were charging was $200 and as they mentioned in their lease agreement that it'll be according to market standards, I thought it'll be around the same range. They also charged me $95 miscellaneous cleaning fee on my Continental account. Just for moving out I have spent more than $600 for an old looking apartment. I cleaned everything before leaving but still all these extra charges. Don't rent from them. This is the worst place to rent from. DO NOT RENT WITH THEM! Worst management in state college by far. We rented with them the past school year and to say it was a DISGUSTING experience would be an understatement. This apartment should be removed because it is UNINHABITABLE. When we moved in there was a pest problem including rat droppings, spiders, centipedes, ants, and other rodents including squirrels and a mole. These issues never got appropriately resolved, we constantly had bugs and other pests in the apartment. The shower constantly had drainage issues and broken tiles that were never appropriately fixed either. I've leased two properties from Continental Real Estate, and both experiences have been disappointing. The first time I rented from them, I felt it was almost a scam. I paid an absurd amount for an apartment that was basically a repurposed office space—no living room, just a shell of a place. I think they've since changed ownership. My second experience was with a nice townhouse on Beaver Ave. While the property itself was great, I received a refund check that included outrageous charges—over $1.4K—for cleaning and maintenance, even though I left the townhouse in better condition than I found it. I personally ensured everything was spotless and in perfect shape, including the furniture the landlord had left behind (which we were initially told we could keep, as we signed an unfurnished lea
