My wife and I rented a property from this agent and her husband for 4 years (not through Coldwell Banker). Firstly, the lease agreement was written to heavily favor the owners, to the extent that it likely violated California fair housing standards. We left the lease when a renewal was refused because the owner wished to market the home for sale and collect rent revenue at the same time. We are expecting a child and could not risk being booted out onto the street if the house sold. Our move out costs totaled approximately $1,400 in an effort to reclaim a $2,500 deposit. Costs included non traditional move out expenses like: cleaning the windows, gutters, chimney and carpets after 4 years of renting.
