Clinton Flats

One of the worst buildings to live in Newark, and I highly advise that you don't if you're attending school nearby. The stress isn't worth it. The problems are too long to list, but almost all of the amenities you are offered are unusable. The roof has been in awful disarray for the past two years; the furniture is old, molded, and stained. The gyms do not have adequate ventilation or heating/cooling and are tolerable in the winter but unbearable in the summer, and the lights won't work for a good chunk of the year so good luck ever using it. Someone has already mentioned how awful the in unit washer and dryers are, but so is every other appliance that you are offered. The team is very responsive and helpful for any issues that had come up come so far. Ashley has been a great building manager and was there to help with any questions. It is also so close to everywhere such as Prudential center and also Newark Penn station, which makes commuting to work, super easy and convenient. Also, the best part is the rents are so affordable

I was very surprised to find such close apartments to the Universities and transport center. Clinton flats have great apartments at a great price with clean and safe residencies. The complex is quiet and management is professional and friendly. Management does a great job at keeping the property clean. Maintenance usually addresses problem quickly and do follow ups to ensure repairs and issues are handled and satisfaction. Would definitely recommend if you are looking for apartments in the area.

In reality this place is one where you get what you pay for, and sometimes even less. -4/5 of my windows panes leak heavily when it rains -if the fire alarm is triggered they will not turn it off until business hours. That means if it goes off Friday night you will have a 120 decibel siren in your home for 2 days. -the washer/dryer takes 3 cycles to dry, which can bring your electric bill to $100/month. -neighbors often throw parties, the quiet hours are not enforced -the trash chute leads to an open pile connected to the mailroom and lobby. We had the pleasure of touring 30 Clinton Flats back in May, with Helmer (the Leasing Agent).  We knew right away that it was exactly what we were looking for!  The apartment renovations were beautiful, and all the amenities were an amazing added bonus!  Helmer was super helpful in assisting us in getting all our paperwork submitted right away and we were approved only days later! Upon moving in, we ran into an issue with the thermostat… which didn’t seem to be working on the air conditioning setting.  We contacted the Service Manager, Qasim… who happened to be on site at the time, and came to find out what was going on.  He immediately put in a work order, and got someone to come out and fix the air conditioning right away!  Since then, we’ve only had two other minor issues in the apartme
