Unethical and unprofessional. I was told to fill out an intake form and that the company would run a soft inquiry to provide an initial evaluation on my ability to get a mortgage. The company then proceeded to run a hard inquiry without my authorization, and then refused to do anything about it afterward. They justified their actions under the guise of "it had to be done since you were looking for a VA loan". A true professional would have followed up to secure authorization upon this new information.
