City Houses has decided to undergo relentless projects at Lindhurst Apartments in the year 2020, while we're all forced to stay home more because of Covid, and lean on our homes for peace of mind. This spring/summer/fall has been myriad of dust pollution, downing trees, tearing up grass and replacing it with gravel, treeing trimming every day, etc. City Houses has now decided to reside Lindhurst Apartments during our December Covid lockdown and the holiday season. (Edit: To be clear this residing is not an upgrade. There was no insulation added, the apartments are just as cold/drafty as they ever were. This is merely a superficial project.) And the management company will constantly try to gaslight you by telling you none off this affects you because it's not happening inside your apartme

I've been living at a cute little duplex that City Houses manages. We're mostly very happy here. We pay our rent early every month. Last week I reached out to contact them and ask that a tree (not pictured) could be trimmed back a bit because it was reaching all the way across my yard and making it hard to walk across. I came home and found that they cut the tree down along with every other green thing in my yard that I had been caring for. I called in and gave them an opportunity to give me a reason why. I've basically heard that they landscapers "did what was recommended" and that is the decision made. No real apology. No plan for how to fix the situation. reviewing a piece of property managed by city houses: 2533 NW Thurman St, Unit B. this unit is incredibly loud.. its a loft unit and the walls and floors are thin. Everything from the side neighbor is heard. The neighbors vent is so loud it vibrates the entire unit and is heard and felt over ear plugs, noise canceling devices and white noise. The units wooden floors will creak and pop so loudly from the neighbors walking on theirs that it makes the wooden floors and rafters pop loudly all throughout the day and night. The loft floors creak every time walked on. The windows don't really open except in the loft area because of how they were installed so fresh air is hard to get. Unfortunately City Houses lied about zoning to get our Children’s indoor play space business in their property. They proceeded to make us responsible for a 97k wall for earthquake safety which was never brought up prior to renting the space. They then refused to allow us to find a solution to keep our doors open as we could never afford a bill like that. We found a perfect solution to have another family help us and take over our lease in which City Houses said their rent would be almost double the price making it 10k per month to run. They are now making us leave and taking from the community a space for families and children. We rented a duplex from 2006-2014 managed by City Houses. The property we rented was at 6208 NE Glisan St. We loved the house with hardwood floors, a fireplace, 2 bedrooms, and a basement garage. We had a nice garden area behind our house. The only bad part was the neighbors. One was crazy and the other unfriendly. Besides that it was a great place to live when I lived in Portland!
