Chestnut Hill Village Apartments

I’ve been living at this apartment complex for 1.5 years, and we won’t be renewing our lease. Maintenance is excellent, requests are handled very quickly and efficiently. The leasing office staff is also great: friendly, responsive, and easy to communicate with. Unfortunately, the apartment itself has some serious issues. The windows have cheap plastic locks, and in some cases, opening them causes the entire window to fall. The blinds are also very low quality and break frequently with normal use. All three of the AC units are poorly installed, letting wind constantly come in from the sides. The gym renovation was also disappointing. Despite paying an amenity fee, the gym is now much smaller than it used to be, which feels like a downgrade rather than an improvement. Overall, great staff (

1 Star – Ongoing issues, no support, poor management I’ve had nothing but ongoing problems living in this apartment, and management has been extremely unhelpful. There is a hole in my ceiling that has not been properly addressed. I’ve also been dealing with ants and silverfish in my apartment, which I reported, yet no one has come to take care of it. Living with pests is unacceptable, especially when maintenance requests are ignored. On top of that, I received emails accusing me of smoking in the apartment, which is completely false. I do not smoke in my unit , management jumped straight to accusations. This was frustrating and stressful. I can’t say enough great things about the property manager Jeselyn Ramos. During a recent job transition, I unexpectedly fell behind on my rent. It was an incredibly stressful and humbling situation, and I was honestly nervous about having that conversation. Instead of judgment or pressure, I was met with empathy, patience, and genuine understanding. I move into CHV in 2020 and was offered a 15 month lease and I got first month "free." That "free" month was taken back by the 9.5% rent increase when it was time for renew. I liked living in CHV very much, yet in the 4.7 years living there, management change hands like 3x and my rent increases were substantial! In the 4.7 years my rent ended in a $600 increase!! The amenities are ok, but the gym is smaller after reno, the pool in the summer in shut down a lot due to staff shortage. The firepits and BBQ do NOT WORK, I don't know why they continue to show these pics. Maintenance was good, they responded quickly. Charla was amazing! She helped me from start to finished. The process was super easy, she allowed me to ask as many questions as I needed and got back to me in timely manner. She was polite respectful and informative, great energy I’m very happy to be moving into my new apartment today thanks to her!
