Charleston Urban Apartments

This place is a scam. We have lived here for a year and when I moved in the place was not clean whatsoever. There was pee in and around the toilet, and clear evidence that maintenance never came before moving in. We have been trying to get in contact with Kristy for a month now and she completely ghosted us (this is not the first time). Terrible management with practically no way to get in contact with anyone. Kristy's phone number is no longer an active one and she did not give us a heads up. Our work orders took months to get done, some of which have not been addressed yet and it's been a year. Only reason we are staying is because we couldn't find anywhere else. I would not recommend even for college students on a budget.

Make sure you look at the apartments if you can. We could not and had to rent long distance. Prior to renting the property manager seems very nice. She is not. She loves to control and frustrate her tenants. If something is broken it may take months to be repaired or never at all. She uses excuses that she cannot find “vendors”. She will play the waiting game if she knows you are moving out. Rentors move out as soon as they can in the building we rented from - 364 King Street. The entrance smells and is filthy. We were told for 1 year that the carpets were getting cleaned, never happened. Different units had problems with flooding, ceilings caving in, swarming termites, fly infestation and don't get me started on the Palmetto Bugs, aka, Large Common American Cockroach. The prop

WARNING: Do not give Kirsty any of your money! We applied and paid a holding fee (which by definition reserves the apartment until your application is approved or denied) and from then on she continued to be unorganized, messing up emails and applicant information until finally we got approved. Instead of telling us we have been approved or communicating with us at all she actually ghosts us. Completely ghosts us. Over 200 dollars in applicant and holding fees down the drain when the applicant portal says we have been approved and therefore the apartment should have been held for us per the holding fee. I really like where the property is located. The leasing agent / Property Manager, Kristy, was so nice and helpful. Our stay at Charleston Urban has been a good experience. Knowing how busy the PM can be she always got back to us! The property was always clean. I recommend renting from Charleston Urban/Kristy
