Castilleja Apartments

I really loved living here! I am actually pretty sad to be going. I had one of the smaller one-bedrooms for five years. If you move here and don’t like noise, I would recommend getting a third-story apartment. Walking up the stairs is a pain, but it's worth it! Keep in mind you will have different neighbors, and not everyone’s experience is the same. For the most part I never had any issues with neighbors! I had one who would party nonstop one year, but the apartment complex solved that issue quickly. Compared to other complexes the parking availability is really good. I loved that there were two pools on the property. Maintenance at the second pool went downhill this last year, which I was disappointed about. Too bad I can not give 0 stars. I received a 24 hour notice to remove a punching bag from my patio but reading my contract no where specifically does it say no gym equipment, it states "please keep your patio/balconies clean and free of debris and clutter. Do not store furniture, brooms, mops, trash, trashcans, laundry, toys, bikes or other items on your patio/balcony" no specific indication of gym equipment and at that it is not being stored there as a storage. I use it out there it is IN USE not being stored away. Ridiculous when rent costs an arm and leg. Then when you put in a maintenance request that is the least of their concerns because guess what that makes them no money but fining you for everything will. Maintenance will wait 4-6 weeks to get back to you or even sometimes close

If I could give this place negative stars I would, management is horrible, whenever you need maintenance they take over a month and sometimes they won’t even come, or they want you to fix it yourself. These apartments ridiculously overpriced, and you are not allowed to have ANYTHING on the patio or they will leave a note demanding you remove it within 24 hours or they charge you a fee. Would definitely advise against moving here

Very bad in maintenance, every time work order is put in they take about a month to get to anything. Now they have a service center call and want you to fix the problem instead of sending maintenance. If you have a broom outside on your patio not even a day they want to change you for it but yet other apartments have whole gyms outside covering of the patio and we are not supposed to have that neither but to want to charge me for a broom is ridiculous

Property is nice but BEWARE, they tell you one thing and charge you for it behind your back. Make sure you get everything in writing. Also, understand that they will still charge you for utilities way after your lease has ended. They’re also very controlling and will find any tiny reason to charge you. Final bill is sent to collections prior to 21 days so it affects your credit no matter what you do. DO NOT recommend these apartments, I’ve stayed at a lot of different apartments in the past and never have I received a final bill like this.
