Carriage Hill Apartments

I’ve been living at Carriage Hill Apartments since August 2019, left August 2021. I want to start with the good because there is good. I love the location. I’m a student at UTK, and the drive there is super easy on Western Avenue. It also isn’t too much trouble to get to West Town Mall or downtown. There’s an interstate entrance/exit nearby, and I have never had trouble getting parking close to where I live. I like the price of the apartments especially on a student budget. The layout of my apartment is also quite nice in my opinion. Maintenance has always fixed problems quickly and without fuss. My boyfriend and I have always had wonderful phone service at the complex. I’m on Sprint and he’s on Verizon. By the office there’s a pool which is clean and well-kept and there are grills nearby.

I’ve lived here for 4 years, and have loved every second of it. The prices are affordable, and the office staff is so helpful and friendly! I moved here because of a referral, and now refer all of my friends looking for a long-term, budget friendly rental solutions in Knoxville. Highly recommend.

I would never live here. I have a friend who’s been here for 5y now and they’ve complained more and more over the time they lived here. Initially the new management (which acquired the place about 2y ago) seemed nice, they made changes to organize the place, but over times things changed. Suddenly it became much much harder to find guest parking, then they began complaining, and now they want to move. The trash used to run twice a week and now it runs once, and a year later the dumpsters shrank considerably. And THEN they began issuing lease violations for everyone that left trash by the dumpster, yet they were the ones who created the problem. The rent is cheap, but with the new management it just seems like the only people that fit in are solitary, with no friends and no desire to have

Not a bad place if you keep in mind you get what you pay for. I miss the old manager tho. The people near us smoke weed all the time outside. Management HAS to know people are reeking up the place. They try and make it seem like a “family place” yet allow stuff like that. Honestly will probably be leaving soon. The complex has treating us good but we are over it.

We have lived in here for 5+ years and I will tell you that the pool is closed more times than not. A HUGE reason why we chose to live here is the nice pool that we have, yet we rarely get to use it. It opens up way later than other apartment/ community pools and is closed literally ALL the time. It sucks that we pay for an apartment complex to have a beautiful pool that you don’t even get to use that much and while you’re there it’s like you’re being watched like a hawk. Other than the pool issue, the apartments are a good size, the maintenance men are incredible and the office workers are nice!
