I just purchased my first home. From the first meeting through the closing on the house, Guild Mortgage was there every step along the way - they answered all of my questions and made me feel supported. However the moment my loan was finalized, Guild Mortgage sold the loan to a rather generic company where I am now just a loan number and may never get to speak to someone personally about my mortgage again. Guild Mortgage's response when I asked about this transaction was that this is standard practice in the mortgage world. And while that may be true, my disappointment stems from the fact that I was sold on the personal attention, local people and continued care I would receive from Guild Mortgage for the life of my loan. And to have my loan transferred to a large company in another state
