Carefree Property Management is too carefree in the management of their properties. To be fair, they are nice enough staff but are too unorganized, slow, sloppy, and don't communicate very efficiently. For context of our specific situation: 1. We signed our contract and ads for our property were published on April 19th, 2024. 2. We had a second mortgage being applied on July 1st, 2024 so we needed a tenant in our residence ASAP. We gave the deadline of June 1st, 2024 before moving on to another property management group. 3. Carefree Staff only wanted to communicate via email despite many attempts to reach them via phone call - how can you run an efficient business this way? 4. I see a lot of negative reviews here, and I can't speak for those, but I rented from Carefree Property Management from 2015-2017, and it was the best rental experience I have had in the Portland area. I was working with Pam Widman at the time, and I know she is no longer with them, so I don't know what it's like there now, but Pam made dealing with our difficult situation as easy as anyway could. I hope that everyone has as good an experience with them as I did. Thank you to the fellow on the phone today who happily looked up my past exact tenant dates so that I could file tax revisions from those years.

I have worked with Carefree for over 6 years and been grateful for their customer service. I do most of my coordination via email and have been impressed by them getting back to me and their resolutions. I have checked in with the tenants and on occasional walked through. They love Pam for making sure their issues get the attention needed. Pam and I have tried to make sure to provide a small gift basket in the holidays for those that are living in my home. It is my home, but we could not keep it in good condition without Carefree having a good partnership with the tenants and good contractors to quickly resolve issues. Thank YOU

They list properties that have already been rented and are NOT available. I inquired about a property that was posted on their website, Zillow, and other places - and they told me they wouldn't show it to me because it already had an approved application and the listing wouldn't be taken down until the tenants moved in two days later. This means that the property had been rented for weeks already. Why in the world you keep a listing up that has been rented? It is false advertising and a waste of someone's time. Thankfully I didn't just apply and give them my money 'hoping' I'd be the first.

First and foremost. I’ve known the owners of carefree for years as a tenant. The reviews are based on simple misconceptions of a business that’s been around doing business for years. As far as the past 3 years. During COVID. I know personally the company Never Let up assisting tenants. I have sent clients to CareFree and they treat them absolutely as a business should. This is a reciprocal business arrangement when you do business. people are okay with saying anything ugly and distasteful about a business or another person when things don’t go as they want them. A little kindness and speaking to people with respect goes a long way. Care Free has the best business ethics and they don’t have a rigorous application process as most management companies.
