Capital Title of Texas – Corporate Office

I have tried calling the corporate location twice over the past month. One of their branch locations are blatantly committing fraud and I have tried reaching out to get it settled without having to drag this into a lawsuit. The receptionists have been very sweet, both times they listened to what my scenario was and assured me they would move this up to the VP who would be contacting me. As you might guess, this has not happened. Super shady company. If you are on the fence on using this company, DO NOT!!!

I am writing this review to bring a very serious issue to the attention of Capital Title’s headquarters. While preparing for closing, I contacted Silvia Hall, the receptionist at the Shaenfield branch in San Antonio, TX. She had previously assisted me with wiring the initiation fee, so I trusted she could help me again with the final transfer. During our call, I said, “Ah, I just got the instructions from you (via email).” Silvia verbally confirmed this, which led me to believe the wire instructions were legitimate. Based on that confirmation, I completed the wire transfer. It turned out the instructions were fraudulent, and my funds were sent to a scammer. I later told Silvia that the email signature block had an incorrect phone number by one digit; she thanked me for pointing it out a

I've worked with this title company several times now, on the recommendation of my realtor, and they are AWESOME. I've worked with Janet, Eli, Emily and everyone there has been extremely nice, but I just want to call out Emily. From the first time I talked to her, I just knew she was going to be great, she was extremely knowledgeable and friendly from the get-go. I've had countless emails/calls with her now and she's gone above and beyond each time. The amount of fires (from others, not her fault) she's had to put out, while always being extremely patient and fun to work with, is insane. Knowing she's working on our file puts me at ease, since she's always extremely diligent. Thank you Emily & Capital Title!

Avoid at all costs. From the executive level down to the individual escrow officers at local branches, this is an incredibly shady title company. They do not follow best practices (I've had to deal with them on both sides of sale contracts here in Texas) and their incompetence, if not active gross negligence, will cost you $$, time, and potential loss of a sale of your home as they are unlikely to perform proper due diligence on title work.

I have been in real estate for almost 15 years and Michelle Trickel and her team are one of the best teams I have ever worked with. Although our relationship started due to a mutual client, I have done well over 50 transactions with this team and I can assure you that it’s hard to find a title company better than this one. Michelle is literally one of the hardest working individuals that I know and she expects the same level from her team as I do. I literally can’t say enough about them…they are amazing.
