Build On Your Land

I have had numerous homes custom built in my life. Some were great experiences, some were mediocre. If I were to build another home, I would choose these guys. Every morning on my dog walk for the last 60 days I have watched them building a home from land clearing to dried in with shingles. At the same time across the road, I saw another builder who started land clearing at the same time who still has not even finished the foundation work. But the build on your own land people have consistently had crews working efficiently on the project and have gone amazingly fast with high-quality work. Five years in, and our roof is leaking due to poor workmanship. Couldn't speak to anyone about it, was told to email McGuinn Homes. They replied via email that we should contact a licensed roofer as the home is no longer under warranty, There are other issues with the home too. The tankless water heater they installed is sized for a tiny home with 2 occupants, not a 1900 SF home with a family of 4. So, we're unable to run any appliances or both showers due to inadequate water pressure, and it takes forever to heat. It will cost us thousands to upgrade it. Finally, we have a crack in the grout of the master bathroom floor that was repaired at our 11-month walk through and reappeared just weeks later. The builder was dismissive of my concerns about the cause of the crack in the grout. Well,

Build on your Land have been absolute champions throughout a very unique and likely challenging build. Iain as my primary point of contact throughout the entire process and Hunter as my superintendent were legends. As I've learned no build is without its challenges, but I legitimately believe that both of them wanted to ensure we ended up with a house that was both safe and what we wanted. Any complaints I had fell completely outside of their control, and as we move in today my wife could not be more pleased with the final product. I fully intend to revisit this review after the first year to report back in and hope/expect it will remain very positive!
