We’ve lived at Broadwater in Galveston for nearly a year now. We love it here! Extremely well kept facility. Grounds are beautiful. Location is hard to beat. Staff is also tops in this industry! Our first contact (Lisa) was the best, so good at her job she got snatched up to bigger and better things. Christopher, who now sits in Lisa’s former position is looking to be another great find - he is friendly and professional. The property manager, Alexis knows the residents by name, and keeps this place operating as a 10 star facility (though I can only give 5stars above). Then there is Martin, our maintenance professional. This guy can do it all! He gets our request and fulfills them quickly. Martin always shows up neat and clean in his appearance, and the repairs he provides are the very same

I have lived here for years with a good experience and unfortunately the new management has major issues. Most recently they decided to power wash the apartments which were starting to get filthy and in the process allowed water leaks into tons of apartments. When I called to let them know this was happening, they said they had been getting calls about it all morning yet they had continued this work and tried to pass it off as “third party contractors”. Not only the negligence, they refused to cover for any damages items when Texas law states they are responsible for damages caused by negligence separate from rental insurance.

Broadwater Apartments in Galveston, TX is one to avoid. When my wife and I toured here in April 2025, the office staff at that time was friendly and made you feel welcomed. We were told that it was a secured and safe apartment complex and that the entrance gates recently broke and would be fixed and upgraded soon. We were also told that the apartments exterior looked “dingy” because it was getting ready to be repainted. The application process should have been a red flag and a clue about how things went there. Issues with missing information on the background check and always getting the same answer when we would call to follow up. When we finally moved into Broadwater in May 2025, the gates had not been fixed, the mildew was beginning to show on parts of the exterior of the buildings, a

I sent a deposit check while I was still out of state, but it didn’t arrive in a timely manner, so I assumed it had been lost. I canceled it, notified the office, and sent another check, which they received. However, the original check must have arrived eventually, as someone in the office attempted to cash it knowing I had already paid. The office then tried to charge me a $100 overdraft fee for their own “mistake.” There is no emergency maintenance. My air conditioning went out multiple times during extreme heat, and no one showed up for one to two days. They also locked me out of my apartment during the final month of my lease, despite having received full payment and an email from me confirming my move-out date. When I called to get the locks changed back, an employee named Monica sc

This place is becoming a literal DUMP. When we first moved here in 2016, this was one of the best properties on the island. Fast-forward to about Spring of 2022 and things have taken a turn for the worst. Since that time, there has been a consistent turnover in management and leasing staff. One manager was caught living in one of the model units, and the replacement employee was one who ended up stealing tenants’ rent money. And now, the current manager (Alexis) is not only incompetent but rude. The dumpster units are CONSTANTLY overflowing with garbage and waste- attracting pests and rodents--why put your trash in the dumpster when you can just throw it down on the ground nearby? If you tour the property be sure to ask to see the dumpster areas. The gates are consistently broken and/or
