Botetourt Apartments

I am NOT a fan of the new management- Sweetwater Management. Their front office personnel are unprofessional and unresponsive. Not to mention hardly at their desk or reachable by phone or email. So far since I've lived here my heat has been broken for almost 3 months during the winter. Managements solution was to give me space heaters which they delivered and left plugged in for over 2 weeks while I was on a work trip (fire hazard). They have charged illegal fees to the rental portal making up surcharges that require you to be almost combative in order to get them removed. I am a patient person but this has been unacceptable. I have not yet taken possession of my new home at the Botetourt Apartments, but Brittanie and her team have made me feel comfortable and confident that I'm going to love it there. From my first contacts with the management company, she has been responsive and accommodating. I am trying to arrange everything while overseas which can be complicated. I was able to have a friend view the property for me, and the company has been sending regular updates every step of the way as I sort through the approval process as a non-typical incoming renter. I was worried, but it seems everything is going to work out! That's good, because I love the area. The professionalism of the staff is unmatched. Brittanie Paulsen always responded to my emails within 10 minutes of them being sent, and addressed all my questions thoroughly. It was definitely the easiest I've seen when it came to securing an apartment and having questions/concerns addressed. I've only done it once before, apply for/move into an apartment, but this was so much easier. I look forward to moving in this August.

We moved into the Botetourt Apartments in September 2021 and moved out April 2022. We applied for and signed the lease for the apartment over the phone and e-mail which was a painless process. Items to sign were sent over docusign. Unfortunately the events that occurred after we had moved in greatly lowered my rating. Location: 10/10 It’s right off a main road, easy to get to highways. In the Freemason Historic District, lots of great access to the Elizabeth River Trail, downtown is all within walking distance… Cure Coffeehouse and Virginia Cheese Company directly across the street are an added bonus that you should absolutely visit. Looking at many apartments upon arriving to Norfolk, VA, I was able to narrow down to a few and the BOTETOURT Apartment building was selected; it is a great place to live! The entire team is truly dedicated in making the BOTETOURT Apartment a fantastic place to live due to their friendliness, helpfulness and dedication to its occupants. It literally feels like every and each member of the team is part of your family, which is sometimes overlooked while residing in a rental property. The apartments are also very well kept and were designed in a functional matter in regards to the great layout! Thank you BOTETOURT team; you all are awesome! I always love coming home!
