I have rented my apartment for five years now, Best City offers reasonably priced apartments in center city. Recently I was victim of a robbery and the attackers got my ID with my address and apartment keys, within less then 48 hours their office and maintenance team went above and beyond to help me out! My lock was changed and a few people from the office reached out! Very much appreciated 🙏. Rent for my 500 sq foot apartment is affordable, the application process easy even with a credit score I'm working on and maintenance requests are done within a few days. The rent increase is not every year like a lot of places and when raised, it's still reasonable. As for the apartment, mine is a little dated and kitchen sink small and obviously lived in, but everything works, apartment was clean

My leasing process with Best City Homes was the smoothest I've ever experienced in Philadelphia. Julia in the office was incredibly helpful and thorough, walking me through all the documents and answering my questions with great detail. The unit in South Philly was spotless when I moved in, and the entire team has been professional and attentive from day one. I'm very happy with my experience so far. I love the community feel at my Best City Homes apartment near the Italian Market. The location is excellent, and the neighbors are friendly. My specific apartment is clean and affordable, and it's the kind of place where you feel at home. The office staff is always a pleasure to deal with, and they've gone above and beyond to be accommodating.

Worst landlord ever! DO NOT RENT WITH THEM!!!! They refused to return $190 from my security deposit for moping the floors ($40) and painting a wall ($150). They probably would have kept more but they couldn't find anything to charge me for because the apartment was SO CLEAN when I left! I lived in the apartment for 1 year, it was clean and recently renovated junior 1 bedroom apartment. When I received the cleaning checklist it looked like I had to hire a cleaning company if I wanted my deposit back. I was told not to worry about it and that as long as it was cleaned up and I didn't have animal feces on the floor I would get my money back. Here's just a few of the problems I dealt with after renting from BCH: Dealt with mice for weeks before I realized the problem wasn't going away despite how clean I kept things so did a thorough search of my apartment. Pulled back the oven and immediately saw the problem - completely lazy and negligent construction work. I've attached pictures so you can see the giant hole in the floor that instead of properly fixing they simply stuffed a towel in and called it a day. Also there was not even an attempt to seal the cracks surrounding the pipe. Interestingly that pipe goes through the wall to a more visible area of the apartment and that part of it is sealed properly - I guess they were hoping I wouldn't notice if it was in a hidden area. BCH is trying to squeeze every dollar they can out of their tenants. They refuse to pay for a new refrigerator even if it is their fault it is not functioning, and they even have an EXTRA charge they apply to your account if your check bounces. No regard for the tenants at all, very bad service.
