Baywood Apartments

Baywood Apartments are conveniently located near transit stations, grocery stores, and multiple gas stations, it's also not too far from down town Hayward. The complex is old and can use some remodeling, but the location is family friendly, and has covered parking spaces available per unit depending on occupancy. They do have two outdoor pool areas, which is nice, however the pool could use a heating system to make it year round. Baywood Apartments have a great management team that responds to inquiries in a timely fashion. The location is quiet, and the upkeep of the exterior of the apartment building is very clean and well kept.

Average star is like 3.7 so I’m rounding up. Lived here from 11/20-07/21 Front desk/leasing: 4 stars, great response time and always friendly. Never rude or abrupt. Maintenance: 3 stars, professional/friendly but incident with what I believe to be nicotine oozing out of bathroom walls (which I could smell on occasion) and being told no one knows what it is. Apartment: 5 stars, those closets were amazing and no downstairs neighbors for the unit we were in. Residents: 4.5 star, incident with young kids being young unsupervised kids. (Some watermelon, trash, and ding dong ditching) Accessibility: 4.5, it’s sometimes hard to get food delivery because of google map directions sending eats/dasher to wrong side Crime: 2 star. The baywood apartments deserve 0 star for their service. My monthly household income is roughly about 10 times the rent they are asking. However, my application was denied and the reason that was given was that I dont have rental references. I own a condo in a different state and was re-locating to bay area for a job change. What bothered me was that they could have told me beforehand rather than taking 5 days to come to me and tell me that I dont have rental references. If that were the case, I (and all those people who own their housing) would never get an apartment for rent in bay area. My credit is clean with 760+ score for 10+ years of credit history. We came back! The apartments are quiet and well maintained. It was awesome to come back to Melissa's friendly face and awesome customer service.
