Barclay Square Apartments

Barclay Square Apartment has been the most disappointing place we have ever lived. The management consistently looks for reasons to prevent residents from moving out, yet they are unwilling to address necessary repairs within the apartments. We lived in #1003, my husband and I contacted them multiple times requesting maintenance, but most of our requests were ignored. When we first found a new place to move into, Barclay Square management informed our prospective landlord that we had bed bugs—an issue they never treated themselves. Instead, they instructed us to handle it on our own three separate times, which we did, providing receipts as proof. CAUTION!! PLEASE READ THIS REVIEW BEFORE SIGNING A LEASE HERE! The only positive about this place is that they will pretty much accept anyone, but that’s also a negative because of who your neighbors will be. The apartment buildings are completely infested with mice and cockroaches. The cockroaches are everywhere they live inside the oven and in the walls. There is no way to get rid of them because they are so deeply infested. I lived here for about 15 months and there were two shootings outside my apartment one of them sent bullets into our walls. The tenants are free to do whatever they want, some people just dump their garbage in the hallways or on the ground outside it is pretty much the norm. People have balconies but instead they nonstop smoke cigarettes inside or in the hallways

The apartment that my sister lived in had mold & mildew throughout. The ceiling leaked. There were mice & cockroaches. It had a bad smell as soon as you walked in the building. (My older sister lived there & passed away there. She couldn't afford to move.)There was literally so much mold in the closet that held the hot water heater & heating/air unit that the wall looked black! NOT a good place to live!

We want to warn others about our experience with Barclay Square Apartments. They are refusing to return our money ($1,526) and the manager Haley Grose has handled the situation in a very unprofessional and dishonest manner. Long story short: my husband and I paid a lease break fee for a family member (being vague to protect the party who resides there) who was wanting to end their lease. They ultimately decided to stay (in our opinion a very bad decision), but the manager, Grose, cashed the check prior to the agreed-upon date of 9/1. We had dropped a check off prior to this date as we were leaving town. Every interaction with her has been misleading and dishonest — including claims that she “can’t reach anyone” to process the refund and that refunds “never happen.” She made the decision t

Moving into Barclay Square Apartments has been such a smooth and amazing experience! Maribel and Hailey went above and beyond to make the move-in process super easy and fast — they are truly the best. I absolutely love my 1x1 with a fireplace, and the view right in front of the park is perfect. The whole vibe already feels like home, and we’re in love with it here. If you’re looking for a new place and a fresh start, I highly recommend Barclay Square!
