Do not rent from this apartment complex. The landlord and management show no concern for your safety or living conditions. I regret signing a lease and am seeking legal action due to their negligence. I was assured my apartment would be ready upon move-in, but since then, many issues remain unaddressed despite my multiple complaints and work orders. The apartment has holes causing water damage, and the AC is broken, making it extremely hot—often reaching 89 degrees—just weeks after having a newborn. Management told me that if it’s not an emergency, they won’t check the AC. This negligence forced me to call the city for assistance, which has issued fines but hasn’t changed anything. We’ve been without hot water for over four months now—going on five—and there’s no indication that management intends to fix it. There’s also a massive water leak in the parking lot that they’ve had to keep running just so residents can have any water pressure at all. This leak is located near the hot water system that supplies multiple buildings—possibly eight or more—and it’s wasting thousands of gallons of water every single day. To make matters worse, the complex is infested with roaches, and the overall living conditions have drastically declined. Management has reportedly stopped renewing leases or accepting new ones, and there’s strong word that GVA, the company behind Barcelo and the nearby Arcos Apartments, is filing for bankruptcy. My dad’s been living here for 7+ years, the new management team, does not care, we’ve been without AC for almost a month, the outlets do not work, there’s been days without water due to leaks, no hot water for almost two weeks, now there’s a hole in the ceiling due to a leakage, my dad let them know right away what happened and all they said was “ok”, they have no one for maintenance, but really they don’t want to spend any money on fixing things. This is terrible service! I’m glad everyone is moving out and posting about this place, I hope people continue to post so no one rents here. I was curious to read reviews, and now wanna share my experience. I lived here from January 2016-April 2020 in a 3 bed unit I was sharing with my mom, moved in to a 2 bed until December 2023 Mine and my family’s time in building 9 was absolutely ridiculous, no hot water, no AC, no completed work orders, our ceiling fell through 3 different time. We had leaks every time it rained with no solution, INFESTED with roaches, mold in every restroom, mold in the kitchen, broken floor that caused my toddler to fall and hurt her legs, wrongfully towed my car when I paid for the space. We have been here for only 6 days, and it has been a complete nightmare. Please consider that we had to drive over 20 HOURS from Florida to get here. The first impression was ruined because even though we were told that moving in on a Sunday would not be problem, they were closed because they were “slow”, and the manager sent the one person in the office home.
