I trusted Colton from the beginning because of his strong reviews, and because he told me directly that he was “a man of his word.” I believed him. Unfortunately, that turned out not to be true. Colton offered to purchase my client’s home, and I made it clear from the start that my client was in a very vulnerable financial situation. He couldn’t afford to waste 30 days waiting on a deal that might not close. Colton assured us repeatedly that they would perform — even putting in writing that he would forfeit $2,000 if they didn’t follow through. According to the signed contract, my client was absolutely entitled to that $2,000 once the buyer backed out.
