Be very careful before making a deposit with this company. They do a great job selling as a family run builder who does all work themselves. Aurora lays out this perfect timeline for the construction of your home, but then once they have your deposit, the game changes! Aurora will explain away the delays for site work, as permitting issues, then weather conditions, then back to the county on permitting, claiming there’s so much building the county can’t keep up. Aurora appears to run there business like a Ponzi scheme, dragging out the project until some unsuspecting drops a deposit down, so they can do a little on the next one to make it appear there’s been progress. Then the excuses start again, all the big developers are getting the concrete trucks, and we are getting blocked out,

Unfortunately, nothing has changed with the progress of our new house build, even though the owner assured us several times that there would be progress. We have had nothing but excuses, lies and misinformation from Aurora Homes that were confirmed with several Sussex County Government Offices. **Buyer beware. With most new construction, the builder prefers to deal directly with the consumer without any buyer representation. This creates an uneven playing ball field, especially for one of the largest transactions of your life. Evidently, this builder makes empty promises and fails to deliver on time. If you are considering an Aurora home, you may want to seriously reconsider. The work may never be completed, and your deposit will be at risk. Aurora builds beautiful homes.Their standards are better than every other DE builder. But it took 2 years, start to finish, for them to build my house.Since I've moved in, I've had major problems with HVAC, electric, plumbing, garage, etc.No one at Aurora returns calls or addresses issues. Almost 2 years later, Scott and Keith have yet to contact me to schedule the 1 year fixes that were PROMISED. Buyer, BEWARE. I have major issues with the foundation of my house. *Just because you reply to bad reviews with, "As you know", doesn't make it the truth.
