Alvarado Sunset

I previously lived here and unfortunately had a very disappointing experience. Communication from management was unprofessional and unresponsive. When I moved out, I was not properly refunded my remaining deposit balance, and getting clear answers was extremely difficult. I would strongly recommend future residents carefully review their lease, document everything, and follow up in writing. Transparency and customer service were lacking during my time there. Not a place I would choose again.

The person who claims to be in charge of Alvarado Sunset is the worst lady, not very understandable, and rude. She raises her voice and makes fun of people who don't speak English. It's a place with little ethics when it comes to speaking and, above all, being considerate since we have been living here for a long time. I hope the boss really becomes aware and does his part to do something about it. In addition, there are cockroaches here all the time and even after fumigation, there are still some.

I lived here for a year and I would say if you can find something better, then go there. Our kitchen sink was clogged where the water would not drain. We contacted the maintenance team a few times but they never really came to fix the issue. We had to buy a toilet plunger to force the water to drain. The bathrooms do not come with vents, so by the time our lease was over, the walls were covered in mold even tho the window was open all the time to help with the airflow. We had a townhouse which meant the rooms were upstairs. The bedroom above the living room creaked everytime you walked. It was so bad that people in the living room found it very disturbing. The storage is great, but you get an older apartment.

I regret living here so much. Please do yourself a favor and find another place to live. Please save your precious time and energy and do not deal with anyone from this apartment complex. Anywhere else in Davis is better than this place. On the outside, the apartments are shabby looking, the roof is literally falling apart on several units, the paint job is dreadful and dirty-looking. On the inside, the apartments/townhouses are cramped and small. The maintenance used to be slow at responding but has gotten faster at fixing the problems around the apartments. There may be some rats in your units. Sometimes there are roaches crawling around the lawn in front of my unit. I highly recommend not renting here. Tamara the property manager is a nasty person, she is a racist and homophobic. She is hardly ever in the office and is non-responsive to calls and emails. Upper management needs to look into replacing her. She is the main reason we did not renew our lease. This property also has issues with roaches, and rats.
