Alton Optimist Park

I’ve only lived here for 1 month but I absolutely love it here. The application process is definitely a process but once that’s complete and you’re in, it’s a great apartment to live at. The girls up front are amazing. They are always so nice and happy to help. They’re great at their job and seem to really enjoy it and they’re also great to my pets showing them lots of love. I have a 2 bedroom and it’s very spacious with all new appliances. I love my walk in shower and the closets are very large. I love the doggy park out front. I’ve had no issues with any parking. I truly do love it here!

Pros : Rent $, free EV charging, location Cons : Noise, safety, sanitary, quality Lived here for 11 months, and here is an unbiased review. 1. The Pros : rent is relatively cheaper compared to others. Garage is gated, and building requires a fob for access in most areas. Location is pretty good, fun optimist park across the street, and close to work if you are in Uptown. 2. Noise : Extremely loud train horn blares every day and night at random times. Loud live music from local bar (Substrate) every Friday and Saturday night until midnight. I could feel the drums from my bed. Drummer needs to relax. I would not recommend living at Alton Optimist Park Apartments in Charlotte, NC. I’ve experienced repeated ceiling leaks that management said were fixed, only for the problem to return. The situation has now escalated to moisture damage, strong odors, and bugs falling from the ceiling. These conditions have affected my ability to live and work comfortably in my apartment, yet repairs continue to be delayed with no confirmed timeline. This has been a frustrating and stressful experience, and I’m sharing this so others are aware before moving in.

When I first moved into Alton Optimist Park, everything looked promising. The location was convenient, the amenities were modern, and the on-site maintenance team was excellent, fast, respectful, and reliable. That part of the experience remained consistently great. Unfortunately, the safety here is anything but. On May 18, 2025, my vehicle was broken into inside the “secure” garage. I later discovered that multiple vehicles were broken into that same day but mine was the only one with a shattered window. The reason? A full-size cinder block had been left on the 5th floor of the garage. After reviewing details with staff and law enforcement, it was determined that the suspect did not enter the garage carrying the block, meaning it was already on the property and used as a weapon. I toured here recently and Daniel was such an amazing help! Very kind and thorough in explaining why my process would be like especially with me moving to Charlotte from out of state. Cassandra was also extremely helpful as I was filling out my application and helped me over the phone even though I had to call back a few times. I’m super excited for this fresh start and the apartment itself is beautiful! Thank you guys so much!
