Alight Blacksburg

Great experience with this complex. The staff were great to work with and any issues that my son had were attended to quickly. Overall, it is very clean and the furniture provided was in great condition. Appliances worked well and balconies are nice. We highly recommend this apartment complex to any student at VT. GO HOKIES!

Do yourself a favor and go and look at all the yelp reviews, too! Everyone has had AC issues and been charged exorbitant fees via their little inspections. It appears that if you don’t pay them, they will send it to collections! Our daughter has been there 1.5 months, and given the poor condition of the apartment upon move-in, we had no idea that a little piece missing from a mini blind (that was like that upon move-in) would cost the girls $56!!! Document and take pictures of every little thing that you might even consider normal wear and tear upon move-in or you will be charged to replace it! Update to AC issue: A part on the HVAC unit was replaced and it worked for a few days until there was another leak on the floor. Maintenance came out and the unit was supposedly fixed again un

Would rate no stars if I could. I did not end up leasing here, but they did harass me consistently and call me at the wee hours of the night (once at about 1:00 am where they woke me up) a few times to ask if I was going to sign my lease. Ended up signing elsewhere as a result. Do not apply here unless you want to be treated like you are only a simple piggy bank to the management (and if you like being woken up in the middle of the night). Also, do not fall for their ridiculous high pressure sales tactics. There are way better options all around Blacksburg for the same price-point. The property was in shambles when I went to take a tour. There were maintenance short cuts everywhere and everything just looked dilapidated. Do not fall for the spruced-up model unit.

This has to be one of the worst apartment complexes in Blacksburg. The first-floor units of the west section are dank and musty with frequent bug problems. My son and his three roommates had to move out of the first unit they were given about a month after moving in due to water leaking into the apartment. The complex does inspections but I don't know whether it's to fix stuff or find ways to charge tenants more money for what I consider to be highly questionable "damages." We were charged $300 for a carpet they claimed was damaged with mold. My son and I easily cleaned it with no issues but they charged us anyway. They will SCAM you when you move out. They charged us hundreds of dollars in cleaning fees for soap stains on a soap dish in a shower. Plus you have no recourse they automatically take it from your linked account. We called multiple times to dispute charges nobody will ever called back. Make sure you take video and pics when you move out. Sad and unprofessional to scam families after doing the right thing with payment and taking care of a mediocre apartment. Nice try….. I'm definitely a guarantor I paid my sons rent for a year. You may not have my name on paperwork but we’ve tried numerous times to contact you but no return call or email.
