Abaco Key

Abaco Key is a gem! I love to swim and they have a great pool, you can tell that they truly care about their property and their residents from the moment you walk in the office. Erika was so nice and professional. The maintainace staff is amazing, they are so responsive when you need them and they actually get things fixed! They don't just slap a bandaid on it and hope it holds. You will definitely feel right at home here.

I recently applied to rent at Abaco and ended up backing out because the rental process was so horrible and was scammed out of $875. I applied, paid the application fee and was approved, I was told that I had to pay for the application fee for my disabled vet son but that it would be refunded. They then charged me $600 for my son’s service animal but said that would also be refunded since Florida law doesn’t allow them to charge for that. I was then sent a link to pay the deposit but the app said I couldn’t pay the deposit without giving them my user name and password to my checking account. I then called and spoke with Christine and asked for an alternate way to pay my deposit. I once lived at Abaco Key Apartments from November 2020 to March 2024. Christopher Colon was good when I came to tour the property he had explained everything and was very professional. At first I enjoyed living at Abaco key but unfortunately things started to get bad there was no parking at night so if you worked late you literally had to park on the opposite side of the complex. Then the buildings itself were old kept from the original construction from 1995 which had poor insulation causing mold in the ceiling of the apartment. I was forced to break the lease and move because the mold was making me get sick a lot and the big palmetto bugs were impossible to keep away. So I became dissatisfied with living there and moved away from there.

We love it here! Maintenance is fast, and every time we’ve had any small issue it has been handled quickly. It’s also relatively quiet here which has definitely been something hard to find in Orlando.

The management at Abaco Key Apartments is incredibly rude and unhelpful. Anytime we ask for something to be fixed, they look for excuses not to do it. We requested a new fridge because ours had visible mold—maintenance just wiped it with a rag and left. The mold came back the very next day. There’s also a serious roach infestation in many of the units. Management’s only solution is sending pest control once a week, which does absolutely nothing. The problem just keeps getting worse. They also claimed in a letter that the buildings would be cleaned monthly, but that’s a complete lie. The building hasn't been cleaned in at least two years.
