2000 Pennsylvania Avenue Apartments

5 stars overall BUT... HiLo House is directly below my unit and is **very** loud. In fairness I was warned about this before I signed my lease - was even told that the last tenant in my unit left after a few months because the noise was an issue. The leasing agent suggested that I come to see the apartment when a class was in session which I did, but apparently I chose the wrong time of day. It is the morning classes (which start as early as 5:30 am on weekdays) that are the loudest. Thankfully I am an early riser - it would be a lot worse if I wasn't. But feeling like you are laying in the middle of an intense workout session with pulsing music and loud instructors is a jarring way to be woken up. I wish I had good things to say about this rental complex. Former tenant that rented 3 years due to work obligations. The first year was alright. Prior to renting they had advertised as 24/hour concierge which never happened upon moving in. The most they had at the time was their property manager staying until around 9pm but that was it, so late night deliveries from Amazon or DoorDash could never make it into the building. Second year was when issues started happening. Property manager quit and they never rehired anyone for the late night shift to man the front desk. We started getting a leak that lasted 2 years on and off with no resolution. They had their own workers try to come in to patch up the issue but once it started becoming an even bigger issue after each patch-up, they had to

I would not recommend this building. Note that many of the recent reviews were part of a competition run by the building to write a review and be entered into a lottery to win a gift card. 1- Gas leaks. I originally moved in to my unit in mid January and noticed a weird smell, after it not dissipating I put in a maintenance request as I was concerned it was a gas leak. The apartment building simply closed the request and never communicated further with me but the smell persisted. I routinely opened my windows as I was experiencing headaches and nausea, so I just continued on until yesterday when I returned from a trip and was immediately hit by a strong gas smell. This is a fabulous place to live. All the amenities are first class. The apartments are spacious and everything in it is done with class . The building is kept spotlessly clean. Tenants are all friendly; and once a quarter of the Apartment throws a party for its residents. I have lived here four years and just love it.
