101 West End Ave

I have lived at 101 for over a decade. There has been many changes with the new management --some good, most terrible. For whatever reason there may be only 1/3 elevators working at a time and for a building with 30+ floors and two towers this is incredibly problematic. After a long days work no one wants to have to wait upwards of 15 minutes just to go back to their home. On top of that, some of the newer residents are entitled and frankly sloppy. I ran into a presumably new resident who berated me in the elevator for no reason. This seems to be the new atmosphere in the complex--hostile. The new residents are not friendly nor are they pleasant. If you are transplant and from Ohio by all means this is the building for you. However, if you are a normal NYer please find a better building. I

After living at 101 West End for a little over a year, we can say with certainty that the management team at Dermot does an excellent job. It started with our initial leasing contact, Stephen, who immediately dialed in to our needs and knew exactly the unit we would be happy in. Finalizing the deal with Stephen was seamless - he was a pleasure (and fun) to work with! Brandy, the Assistant GM in the management office, was our next point of contact at Dermot. She assisted with all pre- and post-move-in and acclimation details. During those early days, Brandy responded to our (many!) emails most graciously and patiently, as if she were hearing the questions for the first time. She continues to be kind, helpful, accommodating, and eager to make our (and everyone's) experience at 101 West End

This is simply the best place to live in New York City! Sounds superlative, but it was oh so true for me. It was my first apartment in New York City. I moved here to live for a year to help my daughter with her children while she was in grad school. I chose a studio apartment in this building, because it was near where she was living. And every day that I walked in the sliding doors to the lobby at 101 I was so happy to be living here. Every employee in this building went out of their way to be helpful and friendly. I got to know the concierges, the porters, people in the office... And each one of them is my favorite! I am not exaggerating a bit when I say that I felt truly at home when I would walk in each evening. I was VERY happy here for the year that I was lucky enough to call it home

I just moved in, this week and wow what a breath of fresh air. I have only been here two days and it feels like home. A huge thank you to the amazing Stephen and leasing team who made this the most seamless process ever - answering all my questions and having all the apps/websites set up and ready to go. Stephen is a true professional. Upon arrival, Chris + Alex were amazing at showing me the ropes. It felt like my personal welcoming committee! Cheers to a new chapter here - and don't sleep on 101! ;) xx

Fantastic location, great amenities, but problematic management and rampant racism among residents. My partner and I lived in the building during 2023/24, and I’d like to offer some insights for those considering making it their new home. Pros: - The building location is fantastic and accessible to almost every part of the city yet it has a lovely neighborhood feel. We absolutely loved the area. - The building has excellent amenities, which are well-maintained and regularly cleaned. - The leasing staff are efficient, friendly, and flexible. Our lease agreement and move-in process were seamless. - Some of the front desk and maintenance staff—like Anthony, Julio, and Chris—are truly hardworking and always went above and beyond to meet our requests.
